there are many more ways of adding an outline but this tutorial is about doing it my way.
first, set up a new transparent canvas file > new
zoom in the canvas so it will be easier for you to draw [ctrl] + [+]
to draw, click on the brush tool and select the size. I'll be drawing a cupcake.
this is my drawing without an outline.
to add an outline to the drawing, look for mode which is located between brush & opacity.
Select behind and choose a colour for the outline.
next, select a bigger brush to draw the outline. It will appear behind the drawing, looking like an outline.
lastly, crop it out and save it as .png
